CATERING

Caters can either be hired independently or will work at your event space. Next to your venue, catering services for your event will utilize the largest percentage of your budget. So, don't be afraid to ask questions. Most importantly, know your budget and ask your caterer to recommend a menu that will stay within it.

Some questions to ask:

  1. How long have you been in business?
  2. What services to do offer?
  3. Do you offer tastings of menu options, if yes is there a cost involved?
  4. Do you supply all of the plates, glasses, and silverware. if yes is this an extra fee?
  5. Do you have my date available?
  6. What is you cancellation and/or refund policy?
  7. Can you provide recent references?
  8. What is the deposit required to hold my date?
  9. Are there any fees that will not be included in the contract I should be aware of?
  10. Will you be doing any other events the same day?
  11. Are you licensed?
  12. Do you offer wedding cakes, If yes can you provide me with pictures of cakes you have done in the past?
  13. If I need any permits, will you take care of them or will I have to?
  14. Can you create a custom menu for my event?
  15. Can you work around dietary restrictions?
  16. How much are children's meals?
  17. If the venue does not provide tables and chairs ect.., do you and how much is it?
  18. Do you provide linens, if yes is there an additional fee?
  19. What is your policy on left over food?
  20. Do you handle cleanup and is there an extra fee for it?
  21. Have you worked with any of my other vendors?
  22. What is the server to guest ratio?
  23. Are you licensed to serve alcohol?
  24. What is the price per person for alcohol?
  25. What brands of alcohol do you provide?
  26. Do you provide bartenders, if yes how many?
  27. Can we provide our own liquor?
  28. Is there a corkage fee if we do?
